Why do hair fall?
One starts losing hair because of end number of reasons. Here are eight major reasons:
1.You are not getting enough protein
Hair is made up of proteins (keratin). It is very important to ingest enough proteins.
If you don’t get enough proteins, your body doles protein by shutting down the growth of hair.
Sources of protein: fish, meat & eggs. In case, for vegans, you can consume nuts, milk, beans, green peas and green leafy vegetables.
It’s in your genes. Heredity plays a part in both in male & female hair loss pattern.
Hair loss due to hereditary is the most common cause of hair loss or baldness.
If someone from your family has had hair loss at a certain age, then you might be prone to it.
During pregnancy or post pregnancy a woman goes through an upheaval of hormones in her body.
Due to such transitions in hormones, hair growth is affected severely, in women and may lead to hair loss.
Hair loss is more prominent if you just had a baby. Hormonal changes after delivery often lead to hair loss.
4. You just went off the pill
Stopping or switching birth control pills might change your hormonal balance. Any imbalance in hormones often leads to hair loss, just like in pregnancy.
The hormonal changes that occur at menopause also, have same results.
5. Physical trauma Surgery, illness, or other physical stress Or Emotional stress
Any form of stress physical or emotional like the death of someone close to you in the family, your own car accident, prolonged illness and even flu can cause temporary hair loss. But the good news is that it is temporary. As soon as the body recovers the hair starts to regrow so, you need not worry.
A healthy mind and a healthy body are the pre-requisites of healthy hair.

7. You’re over-styling your hair:
Vigorous hair styling and hair treatments can damage the hair from the roots. Tight braids, harsh chemicals, and high heat can affect hair at the roots. This ultimately leads to breaking and shedding of hair.
8. Lack of Iron
Deficiency of iron can cause adverse effects on health. Lack of iron in the blood causes paling of skin and even anemia if the level goes further down.
When hair doesn’t get enough oxygen, they go into resting stage and falls out and doesn’t grow back until iron in blood is restored to normal levels.
It is always better to have an iron-rich diet.
Sources of iron: dried beans, peas, lentils, fish, meat and animal poultry and some fruits and veggies.
