You must have come across various hair myths. Some of them are so vivid that no matter how hard you try you just have to believe in them. It is just the people who are so ignorant that they blindly believe what others say no matter if those things or “myths” are beneficial or not.
Myths are never beneficial, facts are. Here are some of the myths we will be debunking today.
The more you cut your hair, the more it will grow.
Just read that line again and think about it. How is it even possible that when you cut the dead ends of the hair, your hair grows more? The growths start from the scalp and this is the reason that when we break the hair from the middle then we sense no pain, but if we try to pluck the hair then our eyes roll back in the head. If this myth was supposed to be true the most of the people would have gone bald. The more you cut the more it will grow (you see what I did there).
Any shampoo or conditioner will do
No, it won’t do. Any shampoo would not do. There is a reason that we have a range of shampoo. Hair breakage control, hair fall control, for dry scalp, for oily scalp, dandruff control, yes, these range of shampoos are designed for different scalp type. You see, everyone does not have the same type of scalp. Some have dandruff while some lack shine, some have while some lack strength, and it is all in the roots of the scalp and different scalp demands different shampoo. Try selecting a shampoo after going through a thorough scalp examination.
Hair falling off is bad
Consistently around 150-200 hairs tumble from our head. Be that as it may, twice every year, for the most part in spring and in fall, our hair experiences a stage called telogen (otherwise called the resting period of the hair follicle). Amid this stage, it isn’t developing any longer and basically lies on our heads. This is the reason hairs at that point tumble off in such enormous sums. At that point, new hairs (the anagen arrange) begin to show up in the exhausted hair follicles.
Yet, in the event that critical male pattern baldness happens more than twice per year and for longer than a month, you should think about going to a specialist.
Products or pills make your hair grow faster
Hair supplements are something which should not be taken unless a dermatologist or a hair specialist prescribes. A proper diet is what that makes hair grown in a natural way. With proper food diet, we get all the natural nutrients and they are not meant to be taken artificially. Pills are given to women who are pregnant and are in a need of supplements. Due to pregnancy and a proper diet and the boost of supplements, the hair of a pregnant woman is shiny and healthy. They shed a considerable amount of hair after they give birth.
Plucking one grey hair will sprout more grey
STOP PLUCKING THE HAIR. If you keep on plucking the hair then the hair will become weaker. This started when you see one grey hair; you pluck it and forget about it. Then suddenly the next day you see more grey hair. Keep one thing in mind that hair doesn’t grow that fast. If there was one grey hair then there were more and it’s true that you did not notice them. Greying of hair is started at a certain age and that can be different for different people. Someone might have grey hair at the age of thirty or someone might not have even at the age of forty. If you have much hair and you just keep on plucking then the day won’t be far when you would have countable hair on your head. Embrace the silvering and book a stylist.
More brushing means healthier hair
Who said that was true? Barbie? It is a famous myth that you should brush your hair in 100 strokes, and guess who started this myth; yes you are right, that was Barbie. The more you brush your hair the more you are pulling it from the roots. If you pull the roots then you will definitely suffer hair loss. Don’t brush your hair too much rather than just untangle them and keep it simple. Brushing too often can damage the cuticles of your hair. Don’t just brush three times a day.
No colouring of hair while being pregnant
This is accepted that pregnant women will be more cautious when it comes to anything that shouts “chemicals”. The only reason that pregnant women will abstain from colouring their hair will be because of the smell of ammonia, thinking that the smell of ammonia will harm the baby in one or the other way. Keeping this thing in mind, the smell of ammonia is too low to harm the baby in any way. Some salons have an industrial ventilator to keep the smell away. So if you are feeling in a mood of having your hair coloured then just go for it and don’t think too much.
You should wash your hair every other day
If you want to wash your hair every other day then you should probably use a mild shampoo, but not necessarily. Everyone has a different scalp type and it is not necessary that whatever suits your friend will suit you also despite having the same scalp type. If your hair is greasy then wash it otherwise don’t wash it. If your scalp is dry then skip washing it. You only need to wash your hair only when you start noticing a greasy scalp. If you wash your hair often then you might lose the natural oil from your scalp.
You should towel dry your hair
Generally what happens is that when girls take bath than being in a hurry they just start rubbing their head. Take time while drying your hair. You should dry your hair in patting motion like squeezing out water in the towel. Don’t rub or pull your hair while drying them. Wet hair is comparatively brittle and tends to break more than dry hair.
If you start believing these myths then you will definitely ruin your scalp and your hair too.
